Independent Educational Evaluations
Psycho-educational evaluations (otherwise known as Independent Educational Evaluations or IEEs) may be completed by a professional who is not affiliated with your child’s school system. If the IEP team and/or parent is not satisfied with the Special Education evaluation completed by the school, the parent or guardian of a student has the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) at the cost of the school district. IEEs are not limited to evaluating only a child's academic or cognitive skills, but may include the evaluation of any area related to the child's educational needs (e.g., social skills, emotion regulation, behavior, adaptive skills).
Our Independent Educational Evaluations include both a clinical perspective of potential diagnoses under the DSM-V and a psycho-educational perspective that includes recommendations for Special Education eligibility and services. We believe in advocating for our clients and empowering their educational teams to support their unique learning characteristics.
